火災の憂き目にもあったが、39年間同じ場所で営業を続けるバカボンド。壁を埋め尽くすのは、ニューヨーク近代美術館、東京国立近代美術館をはじめ世界中の美術館が所蔵する、画家・平賀敬の作品。その作品群に混じって散見できるのが、バガボンドの個性豊かな歴代スタッフたちのイラストや書道作品。『nepenthes in print #1』のカバーの文字は、モンゴル人のアルバイトスタッフがモンゴル語で“バガボンド”を書いた文字を使用させてもらったもの。
Although VAGABOND had once been damaged by fire, it has been in business in the same place for 39 years. There you can see a wall of artworks by Key Hiraga which are also treasured in the world’s prestigious museums such as The Museum of Modern Art in New York and The National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo. Among those paintings, there are also some calligraphies and illustrations created by previous and current staff of the bar.
